The Sensory Projects provides a bank of FREE resources helpful for those looking for activities to do whilst staying home and staying safe. The resources are aimed at people with additional learning needs, they're loosely grouped into themes, including resources aimed at helping people understand the changes COVID has bought about.


The Imagination Tree has many useful ideas for sensory play



HelpKidzLearn is a collection of software for young children and those with learning difficulties to play online. The software is split into five sections: Early Years, Games and Quizzes, Stories and Songs, Creative Play & Find Out About. You will get the most out of these activities if you play them together with your child. Use them as a focus for chatting. Speaking and listening is very important for young children's educational development, particularly reading and writing.

Soundabout Live! interactive music-making sessions for people of all ages with SLD and PMLD are led by different members of our amazing music practitioner team on our Facebook page every Tuesday & Saturday at 2pm. Every Live! session is stored on our YouTube page and on this TV section. You can play, pause, rewind and view as many times as you like and on any device – especially good for connected TV’s and Sky Q to view on a large screen.


Tate Kids has many activities suitable for home on their Kids Pages, we suggest you may like to try to cut up some paper scraps and make a 3D sculpture,



Every Home A Theatre is a series of fun video challenges designed to bring some theatrical magic into homes up and down the country. They were published in back in April 2020 - but if you haven’t seen them before they are full of great ideas to do at home !!

The Frozen Light Theatre are creating age appropriate theatre for people with PMLD. They have made a sensory resource kit with music tracks and sensory ideas for you to recreate the essence of their production HOME.  


The Concrete Youth Sensory theatre is for audiences with PMLD with online versions of their shows and sensory stories.


Strings and Things is a suite of six sensory stories for young children and people with severe (SLD) or profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD).  Each story takes you on an adventure led by a magical ball of string, unpacking the lived experience of lockdown and social distancing.   


Tailfeather TV is written and presented by young adults with learning disabilities. Fun dance sessions and bright and engaging learning activities on topics such as Jungle, Shapes, Weather, Under the Sea

DPA is an online inclusive play skills resource to help support parents and carers with bite size tips and ideas for play and creative engagement for children and young people and their families in their homes. 


The Oily Cart Theatre company who make theatre for those with complex needs, including PMLD.  The Sensory Sessions offer ideas for creating sensory experiences at home 


Shabang create and deliver accessible shows with music and songs which they sign in Makaton.  They have been offering regular Live and interactive shows on Youtube throughout the pandemic.
