Transition Team

At The Village School, we have a strong support system for parents, carers and families. Our aim, as a team is to improve the link between home and school and to encourage families to become an active part of the school community.

Meena Mehta's role is to support you, your family and your child to ensure that you are all getting the very best from our school community. She will work impartially and confidentially and can provide support, advice, information and a ‘listening ear’ if ever you have any concerns, issues, worries or feedback in relation to family life.

Meena is part of the Transition Team at TVS and she supports parents and students in preparation for Adulthood and the transition process for when students are ready to leave school.  She organises coffee/information events throughout the year for parents of the relevant year groups to attend.  At these events you will be given independent and impartial information and advice about how to prepare and inform your young person about what options they have once they leave the Village School and go onto further education and colleges.

Meena will  support you with giving your views and aspirations towards the Annual Review of the EHCP and Person Centred Reviews held at YR 9, YR13 and YR 14.  She can also advise and sign-post you on; Social care support, transport queries, housing, leisure services, health and understanding the Education, Health & Care Plan.
She is very experienced and knowledgeable in her role and is happy to listen to your questions and concerns about the transition process. Meena works Mondays and Thursdays only.
