Main Café

We have a fully operational Café located next to the main school hall.

The visitors, staff and older pupils are our regular customers and all members of the community are welcome.

The Café is also used for lessons, this includes pizza making, cake decorating, trying out a variety of recipes for smoothies, mocktails, fresh juices and much much more. All of this is with the aim to enhance pupils independent living skills.

Both Village Cafés Ground Floor/Village 3 and The Village Shop is where our pupils and students from other schools come to gain vast amount of experiences.  From initially coming up with the idea and then putting into practice to finally seeing the end product being sold. The activities are tailored to the ability of each student and carefully monitored to ensure the learning is optimised with their learning experiences.

 Village 3 Café

The Village 3 Cafe is now successfully running as a cafe that sells Freshly Prepared Salads,  Sandwiches, Baguettes, Wraps and Hot Panini's as well as Barista Coffee and much more.  It gives our younger students the opportunity to learn new skills such as Washing Up, Cleaning surfaces,  Cleaning Tables & Chairs and Floors amongst many other skills.

Furthermore, the Cafe is  also used for external students doing work placements/work experience that in turn will develop them attaining accredited qualifications that gives the students a head start to work in the UK's fast growing food industry.

The area is also used for 16+ Students for having break times.  Every term the students work on a different text,  in conjunction with the text the students celebrate an event that gives them an experience of a scene that is pivotal to the story. The text from last term was Romeo & Juliet  and scene was set by way of creating an ambiance of when Romeo attends the party the Capulet's throw and he meets Juliet for the first time and they fall in love.  There was a High Tea Party for the students as they were the guests at the party. The students thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
