PE & Rebound Therapy

Here Jonathan our PE teacher works with a pupil on developing her gross motor skills using Rebound Therapy .
Jonathan and Sam our PE instructor are trained Rebound therapy practitioners. Rebound Therapy is used to facilitate movement, promote balance, promote an increase or decrease in muscle tone, promote relaxation, promote sensory integration, improve fitness and exercise tolerance, and to improve communication skills. It is used across our curriculum with pupils from Stepping Stones, Tracks and Lanes all benefitting from the therapeutic approach. In particular their has been a significant benefit for our more physically disabled pupils. Our Occupational therapy team and Physical management strategy support team also support the PE department both with rebound therapy.
The Rebound Therapy levels builds into our overall Physical Development outcomes which are monitored as part of our 'Progress 8' range of outcome indicators. Also below is an example of moderation with Woodlands school completed on March 21st 2016.
