The Village are Boccia Champions!
Having taken part in the London Youth Games Mini and Main Boccia Competition now for the last 4-5 years. Our students for second time made it through to the main competition final taking place at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre on Wednesday 25th March 2015. Having made it to the Final last year the students were determined to do it again. The students had a game plan and were made aware of the importance of winning their first game. The students did just that, winning their opening Game 2-0 against Kingston, they then went on to beat Hillingdon 4-3 and Harrow 3-2 coming top of their group they then went to play a further two matches beating Camden in their last game 5-0.
The London Youth Games has been running for a number of years with Brent participating throughout. The London Youth Games was set up to inspire young and disabled people to use competitive sport and fair play as a means of social and personal development.
The younger students who took part in the Mini Boccia got off to a slow start losing their opening game and drawing their second but then went on to win their next three. They ended up coming third in their group and missed out by 1 point.
Bring on the London Youth Games Boccia Final!!! On Wednesday 25th March – Crystal Palace National Sports Centre.
