The Village Cafes

We have a fully operational café located next to the main school hall.

Visitors, staff and older pupils are our regular customers and all members of the community are welcome.

The Village Cafe caters for the whole school community, parents and visitors. They sell great food at reasonable prices. It has also become a hub for people to meet and grab a bite to eat, have a quick chat and get on with the day!

The café is also used for lessons, this includes pizza making, cake decorating, trying out a variety of recipes for smoothies, mocktails, fresh juices and much much more. All of these activities are designed to enhance pupils independent living skills.

Both Village cafés (Ground Floor & Village 3) and The Village Shop are where our pupils, and those from other schools come to gain practical everyday experiences.

Students all take part in the process of production, i.e. from coming up with initial ideas, putting these ideas into practice to the creation and selling of an end product. The activities are tailored to the ability of each student and carefully monitored to ensure the learning is optimised with their learning experiences.

Success Story

One of our students as moved on from The Village Café to the Savoy.  He managed to secure a position with London’s famous The Savoy Hotel after completing the work experience programme in The Village Café. He was chosen from 25 potential candidates that applied for the Trainee Chef apprenticeship post, and he's doing himself proud!
